Goals Continued - Develop education programs that support the spiritual growth of the parish and reach out to new, potential and current members
- Develop and implement a parochial school at Saint Demetrios
- Meet needs of youth
- Equip laity to lead small groups effectively and adequately, to include catechism
- Develop training programs for lay ministers, growing a welcoming community,
- Develop an adult education class once a week on Orthodox parenting and living
- Develop a catechism class for adults, basic introduction to the faith, start at Pascha and go through May.
- Educate people on understanding why faith and worship should take priority to secular interests
- Develop a spiritual Odyssey that outreaches to non-Orthodox
- Promote and improve effectiveness of the management and operations of the Parish
- Grow stewardship and other giving to where it should be through education
- Develop a spirit of gratitude toward the efforts that volunteers make
- Set expectations for staff, ministries which support the strategic plan
- Create touch points for connecting with parishioners e.g. name day cards, thank you notes, assign families to a task such as coffee
- Assure adequate follow up for concerns, issues, suggestions
- Develop appropriate human resources; volunteers and staff
- Improve communications through multiple forums not just the newsletter
- Celebrate successes/accomplishments
- Identify and share positive stories
- Assure staff member responsibilities and performance are aligned with the goals of the parish.
